Schools
Christ the Saviour considers young people as central
to our work. As such the nuturing, education, and protection of
children is central to us. Since the earliest days of the parish,
the Church has run two schools, one Nursary and keystage one (Infants),
and one keystage two (Juniors). Both of these schools are Church
of England aided schools. The children see the parish clergy on
at least a weekly basis through term, in both school mass and assemblies.
The Church also has a valuable link with Clifton
Lodge Preparatory school. Here the clergy carry out choral assemblies
from time to time. The school also uses the Church for concerts
and on other appropriate occasions. It recently held a service of
memorial for the victims of the Tsumani disaster.
Many of the children from St Saviours and Christchurch
schools go on to Twyford Church of England school. The church maintains
a good relationship here. |
