Music

Christ the Saviour has a strong tradition of locally provided music. Music and singing is central to the Churches liturgical worship, and of great value in enriching our worshiping life. The Director of Music, Mrs Ursula Brett, looks after the music. There is a parish choir which assists with the liturgy. Anyone is welcome to join the choir, although an ability to attend both the practices and Sundays and Festivals, is crucial. The choir sings a wide variety of traditional and modern music. and is both friendly and hard working. If you are interested in joining the choir please contact us.

The Church has a medium sized Harrison Organ, housed in a Bodley organ case at the rear of the Church. There are also plans to install a small chamber organ in the Chancel of the Church to replace one removed in the 1930's.

From time to time Christ the Saviour is used for concerts for outside groups. If you are interested in the possibility of using the Church in this way please contact us.

The Bodley Organ Case in the Chancel of the Church. It is expected that the smaller organ removed in the 1930's might soon be restored using an Organ recently donnated. This would be used paticularly at Evensong & Benediction on a Sunday evening.
