Fr Andrew
Davis
Fr Andrew Davis was born in the New Forest in Hampshire,
part of the post-war bulge. He was brought up in Higham in Kent,
and attended Sir Joseph Williamson’s Mathematical School,
Rochester. He studied at St Chad’s College, Durham University,
and latterly (part time) at King’s College London. He trained
for the priesthood at St Stephen’s House, Oxford, and was
ordained deacon and priest in Rochester cathedral. He served his
title at St James’ Elmers End in the Rochester diocese. He
then moved to the London diocese as a curate at St Mary Abbots,
Kensington. In 1980 he became vicar of St Andrew Sudbury in the
Willesden Episcopal Area. From 1985 he served as Area Dean of Brent
until he became vicar of Christ the Saviour in 1990. |
